Payment Information: All outer island courses, add ten percent. You may cancel your registration up to 14 days prior to the course for a full refund. If you cancel your registration between 14 and 7 days before the course, your registration fee will be refunded less a 10 percent enrollment charge. If you need to cancel less than 7 days prior to the course you may 1) send a substitute from your firm or 2) transfer your registration to another course of your choice offered within the next 12 months.

1910.120(q)(6)(iii) Hazardous materials technicians are individuals who respond to releases or potential releases for the purpose of plugging, patching, or otherwise stopping the release of a hazardous substance. Technicians should have at least 24-hours of training equal to the first responder operations level and additional competency in the following areas: implementation of employer's emergency response plan; familiarity with the classification, identification, and verification of known and unknown materials using field survey instruments and equipment; ability to function within the assigned role in Incident Command System; knowledge of how to select and use proper specialized chemical personal protective equipment; understanding of hazard and risk assessment techniques; ability to perform advance control, containment, and/or confinement operations using available resources; understand and implement decontamination procedures; understand termination procedures; and knowledge of basic chemical and toxicological terminology and behavior. This course is in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and NFPA 472 requirements.
